Diagnosing mental health disorders can be difficult. Many things can affect an individual’s mood and behaviors: physical health problems, experiences in their homes, school, or at work, developmental issues and more. For this reason, a mental health evaluation and/or assessment is often essential to understanding an individual’s unique challenges and how best to provide help.
What You Can Expect During Evaluation and Assessment
During the mental health evaluation or assessment, a Child Guidance & Family Solutions therapist will gather information needed to make an accurate diagnosis and provide recommendations for the most appropriate treatment.
Most evaluations and assessments take place in one of our office locations, but can also take place at a child’s school, a physician’s office or in the community. We also conduct substance abuse evaluations.
