On February 13, 2024, we were happy to welcome members of Class XXVIII of The Child & Family Leadership Exchange (CFLE) to our Central Office. Visiting members had the opportunity to learn about the history of Child Guidance & Family Solutions, common behavioral and mental health issues in children, and the programs and services CGFS offers to the community. They also got some hands-on experience with Sand Tray Therapy, the FLIP IT! strategy for addressing challenging behavior, and Mindfulness and Emotional Regulation techniques.

Participants in the CFLE program, coordinated by Summit County Children Services (SCCS), take part in a year-long series of activities and receive an in-depth understanding of Summit County’s child and family services systems as a way to promote excellence in leadership among Summit County professionals who serve children and families.

CFLE Class XXVIII members represent Akron Metropolitan Housing Authority; Akron Municipal Court; Akron Police Department; Bellefaire JCB; Blick Center; Child Guidance & Family Solutions; Community Action Akron Summit; Greenleaf Family Center; Summit County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services (ADM) Board; Summit County Developmental Disabilities (DD) Board; Summit County Jobs and Family Services (SCJFS); Summit County Juvenile Court (SCJC); Summit County Prosecutor’s Office; Summit Educational Service Center; and, Victim Assistance Program.
